This position is for EPES Transport, LLC., a division of Penske Logistics, based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Trailer Inspector is responsible for inspecting all trailers or containers entering the yard.
This Position is located in Franklin, VA
Shifts Available: Monday-Friday
2nd Shift: 6:30 AM - 2:30PM
3rd Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Major Responsibilities:
Inspect all trailers prior to being spotted at the dock for loading.
Communicate trailers that fail inspection to the PS&D Department and place them in reject status per company standards.
Utilize the onsite cleanout dumpster provided by the mill as needed.
Enter accurate trailer, trucking company, and truck information into the system for all trailers entering and exiting the IP yard.
Inspect containers for overall condition and readiness.
Perform tire inspections to ensure compliance and roadworthiness.
Verify chassis expiration dates are current.
Complete basic data entry, including inspection details, port tickets, and yard exit documentation.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic computer skills required; experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
Ability to work outdoors in various and inclement weather conditions.
Ability to read and comprehend general instructions, correspondence and memos
Ability to communicate clearly
Ability to work independently, take initiative and to be a self-starter
Ability to plan and organize workload
Ability to handle pressure and work with interruptions

Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
