**Exempt Position-Initial salary based on experience**
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing WREC’s Construction Work Plan and Long-Range Plans.
- Monitor and report on the progress of assigned projects relative to schedule and budget as outlined in the construction work plan.
- Directs and performs the inspection of construction projects upon completion.
- Track and order major equipment and materials for upcoming projects.
- Evaluate new components and equipment that will meet the project goals.
- Maintain company engineering drawings and technical documentation including the specifications book, operations manual, and staking guide.
- Provide technical recommendations on construction standards, equipment, and components used.
- Assist in various other engineering projects as time and skill permits.

Required Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
- Knowledge of power systems general properties and fundamentals.
- Strong verbal/written communications skills including interacting with fellow engineers, outside contractors, and field crews.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years of electric utility experience and/or experience in overseeing utility construction
- Working knowledge of current solar technology and IEEE and UL Standards.
- Working knowledge of Rural Utility Service (RUS) rules and regulations, National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electric Code (NEC).
- Experience working with government agencies and regulations from FDEP, FDOT, State and County Agencies
- Working knowledge of computer programs and applications such as: Geographic Information Systems/ESRI, Outage Management Systems, Distribution system modeling and analysis software, utility pole and/or structural analysis software (PLS CAD), AutoCAD, SQL databases, and Microsoft Office software suite.
- Coursework and/or training in Statics, Engineering Economics, Electric Distribution Utility Design, Electric Machines, with a working knowledge of symmetrical components and the per unit system.
