Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG), serving Utah, Summit, and Wasatch counties, is seeking a visionary Transportation Manager to lead long-range regional transportation planning and shape mobility solutions for today—and tomorrow.
As the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and Rural Planning Organization (RPO), MAG is at the forefront of smart, sustainable growth. In this leadership role, you’ll manage high-impact plans and programs including TransPlan50, the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), and the Public Participation Plan (PPP). You’ll collaborate with local governments, state agencies like UDOT and UTA, and other stakeholders to deliver regional solutions that support over 700,000 current and 1.3 million future residents.
The Ideal Candidate We’re looking for an experienced, people-centered leader with:
Deep knowledge of MPO planning, transportation policy, and fiscal oversight
Strategic vision and a collaborative mindset
Proven leadership and mentoring experience
Excellent communication and consensus-building skills
A passion for innovation, equity, and public service
A master’s degree in a relevant field and at least four years of transportation leadership experience is preferred; a bachelor’s degree with seven years of relevant experience will also be considered.
