Position Information: Under the direction of the Deputy Financial Administrative Officer, the Procurement and Travel Officer serves as the lead procurement and travel staff for the School of Education (SOE) and School of Public Policy (SPP) as a member of the Business Operations Team. The incumbent is responsible for advising on UC and UCR procurement and travel policy and procedures, processing purchase orders, travel and non-travel reimbursements, procurement card purchases, and other procurement and travel transactions in support of SOE and SPP leadership, faculty, staff, students and guests. Additionally, the Procurement and Travel Officer is responsible for training and guiding all other staff within SOE and SPP who have procurement and travel job functions, including but not limited to, developing departmental training materials and procedures.
The full salary range for the Procurement and Travel Officer is $31.72 - $50.70 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $40.71 per hour. This position is eligible for hybrid work. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Demonstrated experience in developing standard operating procedures.
Demonstrated experience in training others.
Demonstrated experience supervising other staff personnel, including managing and assigning work, training and development, and performance management.

Serves as department procurement cardholder, processing online payments and purchasing supplies and equipment. Processes honoraria, participant stipends, and human subject payments. Processes campus recharge requests, including parking services, catering, room reservations, and other campus requests.

Travel and Reimbursements: Manages the travel and reimbursement process, including purchasing airfare and registrations, preparing travel requests, reviewing receipts for policy requirements, advising travel and entertainment cardholders, preparing and submitting travel and non-travel reimbursements within policy compliance.

Procurement, Entertainment, and Travel Guidance and Training: Provides guidance and training to other staff within SOE and SPP, including developing departmental procedures to ensure policy compliance and procedure consistency. Leads the development of standard operating procedures in the areas of procurement, entertainment, and travel policy and practice. Trains new staff in the areas of procurement and travel, including but not limited to, hands-on direct training, developing training materials, and planning and executing a training plan.
