Responsible for oversight and management of the procurement function across the health system. Responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to support the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for the delivery of exceptional patient care and operational excellence. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline procurement processes, enhance workflow efficiency, and drive cost savings. Implement best practices, standardize procedures, and leverage technology solutions to automate manual tasks and improve data accuracy. Plans activities related to the procurement function in order to meet assigned objectives. Receives procurement department assignments in the form of objectives with discretion to determine the process by which to meet goals. Exercises judgment within defined policies to determine appropriate action. Uses professional concepts and organizational guidelines to resolve more complex procurement issues.

Required Qualifications:
Management skills required to lead department, including management of staff performance and development, team building and communications, resolution of issues and conflicts, review and approval of work, and hiring and training employees
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills required in interacting with both internal and external resources across the health system
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience and training
Thorough knowledge of the procurement function with broad understanding of procurement objectives and initiatives.
Skills associated with directing a procurement function ensuring adherence to procurement practices and guidelines.
Demonstrated strong and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to negotiate with vendors and gain cooperation of others.
