Overall responsibility for managing the chassis fleet including the dispatch process to ensure high service levels to truckers at DCLI start/stop locations. Working with steamship lines, CY locations, terminals, and vendors daily. Development of processes for exception/issues including, but not limited to logistics, chassis gains/drains and migration analysis.
Duties and responsibilities
Manage chassis fleet for assigned markets ensuring that chassis availability meets demands of the locations and ensuring timely service levels.
Monitor and control cost savings measures for assigned markets.
Develop and Implement Chassis Recovery process, manage and report results
Propose solutions to senior management to improve service, process, and/or savings opportunities based on monitoring the assigned markets for all the below (reported to management on a weekly basis)
Cost savings
Unbudgeted expenses
Service failures
Chassis repositioning moves
Sales/deliveries and idle equipment
Monitoring of idle/dwelling equipment
Support, challenge and drive business excellence and business change within DCLI.
Ensure DCLI Operation Team maintains data integrity, monitor DCLI systems, recommend development improvements and provide overview and support to the DCLI projects and are adapted to further enhance the business.
Maintain DCLI reposition work orders and report on a weekly basis.
Manage service level of repositioning vendors by monitoring and evaluating service delivery levels as per service contracts. Build relationships with vendors and address service issues as needed within markets.
Build good working relationships with customers, terminals, CYs and Rail Yards.
Business and profitability analysis, compliance and theoretical analysis.
Responsible for market research to identify current trends and use statistical and analytical tools to predict future trends and patterns which could affect DCLI.
Investigate, and where applicable, recommend technology solutions to DCLI various work processes.
Utilize, investigate, and explore all forms of existing, nascent, and emerging tracking systems and communication mediums to improve the DCLI processes.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures where none exist.
Maintain communication and relationships with the DCLI management team.
Liaise with other business units to promote working relationships and common goals.
Promote a sense of teamwork and urgency.
Perform other assigned duties.
Coordinate and manage special projects, maintain and report out as required.

Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Emphasis in supply chain, business, marketing or computer science.
Minimum five years of experience working in a Marine Container Transportation Industry
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal as required to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Ability to think conceptually and theoretically.
Strong organizational, multitasking, excel and time management skills required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
