Strategic Account Manager

Position Summary

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for developing new business with carriers, shippers, and logistics service providers.  The Strategic Account Manager will set goals and initiatives to penetrate new customer segments, this is the main goal of the position, as well as increase product usage across the existing customer base.  This role will consult with prospects and customers to develop and implement SMC³’s ‘best in class’ transportation pricing, data and technology solutions.

Essential Job Functions

• Grow company revenue by introducing SMC³ solutions to new prospects Consult with existing accounts matching their business needs with the appropriate SMC³ products and educational offerings
• Responsible for meeting sales goals and targets while simultaneously satisfying the needs of our customers
• Responsible for generating new sales from beginning to end, cold calling and strong entrepreneurial work ethic
• Prepare pricing, license agreements, and contracts in response to customer RFQ’s and develop business opportunities
• Engage SMC³ subject matter experts  and seek guidance from the VP of Sales in order to deliver the best customer solution
• Must be able to forecast sales activity and reach established revenue goals. Educate customers about the value and benefits derived from SMC³ new and potential existing products.
• Perform regular business reviews with existing account base to ensure they are deriving maximum value from our existing products and are aware of new and future offerings
• Directly manage and provide direction to the Sales Support staff, ensuring they are performing the functions of their job
• Travel up to 40%
