Reporting to the Global Procurement Processes and Systems Manager, the Global Procurement Governance Manager is responsible for the design, deployment, monitoring, training, and ongoing enhancement of the Global Procurement Policy (“GPP”) for Kohler Co. For the purpose of maximizing results of negotiated contracts, spend on direct and indirect goods and services, along with reducing risk to the company, the individual will ensure adherence to contracting and spending authorization rules, travel and expense management policies, and preferred system utilization with appropriate system access for associates to properly segregate duties. This individual will succeed through policy clarity and simplification, process improvement, and effective global communication campaigns to maximize the impact of compliance.
This role works across the business teams, global regions, and at all levels to educate the organization about the Global Procurement Policy, expense management best practices, and how to drive the best outcomes possible through compliance to the Policy. Success in this role requires the following:
Policy Design and Deployment
Clear and concise definition of the policy is paramount, as the fundamental components need to be relevant to all parties and supported by and supportive of all procurement systems.
Segregation of Duties (SOD)
All requests for access to data and systems must be analyzed to determine if granting that access creates an unacceptable risk to the company.
Training and Education
It is imperative that all associates involved in purchasing clearly understand the Policy and can execute their daily function in compliance and in support of their business.
Metrics, Monitoring, and Reporting
Policies require accountability, which in turn requires effective measurement and monitoring tools.
Corrective Action and Coaching
Elevate compliance through timely corrective action and coaching procedures.
Drive continuous improvement through ongoing simplification, enhanced training, and effective communication to raise awareness to performance, gaps, and opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, business or engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience and at least 6 years of procurement experience.
Experience writing policies as it relates to procurement, travel, and expense management.
Working knowledge of procurement, travel, and expense management practices and policies.
Proficient in use of all common computer Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Previous SAP experience desirable.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (internationally and domestically is required).
