The Senior Strategic Sourcing Agent will lead and execute sourcing, procurement, and vendor management activities for assigned purchased finished good commodities, including clippers, trimmers, shavers, hair dryers, and styling tools. An effective Senior Strategic Sourcing Agent will perform demand and supply analysis to develop and support sourcing strategies, negotiate and manage contracts, evaluate and monitor supplier performance to enhance Andis’ overall competitive advantage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to:
Develop and implement global procurement and sourcing strategies for purchased finished goods category to result in the use of highest value suppliers while optimizing TVO. This includes market analysis, supply chain risk assessment, source selection, and contract negotiation.
Identify and qualify potential suppliers, evaluate and communicate performance, manage supplier relationships with suppliers that will enhance overall capabilities of Andis and result in more efficient product development and a more agile supply chain
Collaborate with our external suppliers and our internal cross functional teams to proactively identify opportunities for implementation of emergent technologies, cost savings, lead time reductions, working capital improvements, quality enhancements, and improved service levels
Maintain market intelligence including commodity specific issues, cost drivers, pricing trends, best practices, and economic indicators.
Support new product development teams through sourcing activities and maintenance of project CBOMs
Work closely and collaboratively with suppliers to identify accessible components as well as capable suppliers.
Proactively engages Marketing and Sales teams to understand future product needs to drive sourcing activity.
Manages product life cycle issues to ensure minimal impact from obsolescence.
Collaborates with Production Planning team to optimize inventory levels and material flow while minimizing stock-out risks.
Identify and executes process improvement projects to increase the operating efficiencies.
Issues purchase orders and maintain the status and information accuracy.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Proven ability to identify, qualify, and partner with capable suppliers globally, primarily in Asia and the US.
Proven negotiation skills that result in favorable cost savings for company
Familiar with cost model, make vs. buy analysis, industry tools and market intelligence to improve supply performance.
Experience in manufacturing environment with both high and low volume products.
Working knowledge of quality systems and lean/continuous improvement processes.
Strong analytical skills, high level of interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of five years of global purchasing/sourcing experience. Experience with consumer electronic products preferred.
Knowledge/fluency in Mandarin or second language a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft offices and AS/400 applications.
Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics is helpful.
Ability to travel approximately 10-15% (domestic and international)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current, valid Driver’s License (with record acceptable to our insurance) is required. CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) is preferred.
