The Purchasing Supervisor oversees global purchasing replenishment and leads/implements best practices and activities to optimize company/department goals of inventory days of supply, cost savings, and global customer fill rates. The Purchasing Supervisor will lead initiatives to streamline purchasing processes and will create partnerships with suppliers to reduce risk and optimize total cost of ownership.

Leads, trains, and fosters continuous development of team of Buyers.
Oversees purchasing and replenishment activities for production components, finished goods, MRO category, and services.
Monitors incoming orders to ensure availability of material for customers and production
Acts as Purchasing Lead for ERP and software implementations
Orchestrates lean initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and VMI program activities among Purchasing Team
Develops and cultivates supplier relationships to drive collaborative supplier partnerships and continuous improvement to material flow
Enters, places, maintains, and expedites purchase orders.
Interacts with various departments and managers concerning specific purchasing needs and supply requirements.
Monitors and tracks Buyer/Department purchasing metrics including days of supply, fill rate, cost savings, supplier lead times.
Collaborates with Accounting on discrepant invoices or counts.
Assist in implementing and satisfying departmental and corporate goals.
Leads, implements, and documents department process improvements and changes
Acts as Purchasing lead on various NPD and CPD projects as required.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or a minimum of five-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of purchasing and supply chain best practices, basic economic and accounting principles and practices; customer service; lean production, leadership and manufacturing processes
Working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (Picot Tables, V-Lookups), and Outlook; Browser – AS/400 Applications; and reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics. Knowledge of Microsoft Access helpful.
Proven ability to improve inventory turns, supplier performance
Proven ability to develop and mentor others
Additional Salary Information: Profit sharing eligibility after one year; supervisor bonus after one year.
