Rebates – Assist in negotiations of annual vendor rebates including requesting and acquiring all rebate plans in a timely matter. Additionally, manage the calculating and accruing for monthly quarterly and annual rebates and special buys credits
Pricing – Assists in negotiating vendor pricing (on high volume items such as shingles) for purchases of stocking material
Special Buys – Responsible for initiating and negotiating periodic buys both nationally and regionally and communicating details of buys to appropriate parties as determined by President and/or Vice President of Purchasing
Vendor Sourcing – Assist in the branches’ ability to source product and also adhere to the unity, direction and specific vendors of choice utilized by GES. Make recommendations for approval of new vendors to VP Purchasing
Systems Implementation – Responsible for the development and implementation of systematic methods both within and outside of our operating system (Eclipse) to improve Department efficiencies.
Product Data – Responsible for overseeing maintenance of Product Data in Eclipse and implementation of specific goals to improve the usefulness of information in the Database
Special Projects – Responsible for solution, research, follow up and seeing any project to full completion as directed
Obsolete Inventory – Responsible for monitoring C and D items and minimizing inventory write-offs through identifying sales/transfer opportunities and implementing actions for the same
Intranet Maintenance – Responsible for overseeing maintenance and updating of approved Purchasing department procedures on the company intranet site. All written procedures to be approved by VP of Purchasing
This position reports directly to VP of Purchasing but also will work very closely with the President
This position should also work closely with both the VP of Sales and Operations
This position has direct authority over the personnel in the BSC Purchasing Department and is responsible for redefining job descriptions of department
Planning, Scheduling, and Travel
This position is located in the Branch Support Center (BSC) Corporate Office in Tampa, FL, and as such, being present and available at the BSC is vital to the success of this position
Required to submit requested travel and agenda items by the 15th of the prior month for approval to VP of Purchasing
Required to participate in regularly scheduled planning and department update meetings, which should be held no later than the second week of each month
Well organized person with strong administrative and good interpersonal skills. A person who is very dependable, and who can work independently
Education and Experience:
Minimum of four years’ purchasing experience in roofing, construction, or home building
Employment experience with a roofing manufacturer is a plus
Need to have purchased for multi-branch operations.

The company was originally founded as Gulfside Supply, Inc. in 1973 by Mr. Jim Resch. The company started in Tampa, Florida with one branch and has grown to over 70 locations nationwide. This growth has come from acquisitions, start-up locations, an...d diversity of products.
The first acquisition was Service Lumber in Jacksonville in 1975. Others include Southern Diversified in Miami, Sun Supply in Melbourne, United Wholesale in Pompano, Ft. Myers and Sarasota and Stringfellow Supply in Gainesville. In 1995 a major step was taken by acquiring American Wholesale which included locations in Huntsville, Montgomery, Dothan, Mobile, Pensacola and Panama City. The Standard/ Bieler acquisition further expanded into South Florida. In 1997 the company acquired Roofline Supply in Macon, Georgia.
New start-ups over the years include Orlando, Sarasota, Ft. Myers, Daytona, Tallahassee, Decatur, Alabama, St. Petersburg, Wichita, Oklahoma City, Charleston and Joplin.
Our expansion continued in 2004 with the acquisition of JEH/Eagle Supply, which has been a well-respected industry leader since 1905. Since this acquisition the name has been changed to GULFEAGLE Supply, and we have gained locations in Texas, Colorado, and the Midwest (see locations)
In 2007, we acquired two new branches in the Carolina’s – specifically in Myrtle Beach, SC and Charlotte, NC. And in June 2007 we grew in the Midwest with the addition of GROUP4 Materials, Inc. We are proud to be able to offer such expertise in 5 additional states for our contractor’s Carlisle and other material needs.
Then in early 2011, we were honored to have AH Bennett become a part Gulfeagle Supply. This included branches around Minneapolis as well as Fargo, ND.
In 2012, we expanded our presence in the Midwest with the acquisition of QBP and Quality Building Products.
Gulfeagle operates its corporate headquarters (known as the BSC or Branch Support Center) in Tampa, Florida.
