The Supply Chain Manager position reports directly to the Plant Manager with dotted line reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Director.
You will manage a team of twelve to fourteen people with five direct reports that include a Supervisor of Receiving, Material Handling & Shipping, two Materials Planners, and two Production Planners.
We require someone who is experienced, is an excellent communicator and leader and can aggressively make changes in a quick and effective manner.
The Supply Chain Manager leads the plant supply chain activities, in the areas of capacity and materials planning, shipping and warehousing, order processing and order planning, scheduling, receiving and releasing of incoming goods. He/she creates net value, leveraging logistics and synchronizing supply with demand and measuring performance within the plant. He/she also drives continuous improvement and LEAN Manufacturing within Supply Chain.
The ideal candidate will be an individual who has eight plus years’ experience in a certified manufacturing organization (e.g., ISO, TS, TUV).
Supply Chain management experience using certified processes (i.e., APQC Process Classification Network) is also required as is project management and implementation of process improvements (i.e., KAIZEN).
A Bachelor of Science degree in (engineering (IE, ME, or related)), or business, economics or one of the applied sciences is required.
A Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is preferred. CPM, CPP, CPPM helpful.
In addition, the following knowledge, skills and abilities are required:
In-depth knowledge of supply-chain management.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze, initiate or respond to technical data and proposals. Performs financial analyses.
Lean Manufacturing experience is mandatory and show experience on drive Pull System and Value Stream Mapping.
Exceptional negotiation skills. Persuasive in positive or negative situations; responds well to questions.
Prepares quantitative and qualitative data and analysis and reports. Writes procedures and processes. Writes and responds to managers, customers, and suppliers.
Cost Consciousness - Works within approved budget; Develops and implements cost saving measures. Optimizes supplier base over time.
Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, EDI systems, MS Office. Strong Excel skills.
Strategic Thinking - Develops strategies to achieve organizational goals; Understands organization’s strengths & weaknesses; Adapts strategy to changing conditions.
Compliance: Adheres to Code of Conduct, laws and regulations and requires suppliers, vendors, and employees to do the same.
Business fluent English. Language skills (verbal and written) in Spanish, or German, or Portuguese helpful but not required.
Ability to relocate necessary for career growth. Ability to participate in temporary assignments at other facilities.
