Partner with Freight Management and Brokerage business pursuit process with market pricing activities to enable growth in TM and Brokerage business. This role is the subject matter expert to understand customer need and to understand current market conditions through benchmark activities and industry best practices. This position will drive strategy and sourcing process flow to allow customers to reduce transportation costs and achieve better carrier performance. This position will collaborate with Freight Management & Brokerage business of procurement project work that will drive revenue through benchmarking and procurement technology bid support. In partnership with the Manager – Carrier Relations this position will support to the goals of Penske's Core Carrier Program.
Support new business pursuit process with market pricing activities to support growth in TM and Brokerage business. Assist Sales and Product Line teams in
constructing responses to RFP / RFQs with pricing, Customer Meetings, etc where the Project Manager will speak to Project Management Processes, Technical Solutions or any area of expertise the Project Manager speaks to during the course of an Implementation. Help to define business rules early on in sales cycle.
Identify and develop predictive pricing analytics tools to better enable accurate market pricing and benchmarking. Manage all data that Sourcing has access to including Freight Payment, TMS, Brokerage & TM customers bid data.
Manage the Penske Transportation Market Update. Provide TM, Brokerage, and Executive leadership market insights to drive customer specific
transportation category insights to drive successful procurement best practices.
Use industry information to drive sourcing strategy. Work with Transportation Sourcing Specialists within each account to educate trends in the market that will impact rates and capacity. Drive forward thinking approach to customer's freight network to identify opportunities.
Penske Expert user in e-Sourcing platform across Penske business. Utilize combined tools to construct more efficient e-RFP setup for customer's freight

At least 7 years of demonstrated transportation/logistics management & procurement experience required
10 years of overall business experience required
Bachelors degree required in Business, Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Statistics, or other related degrees
American Production & Inventory Control (APICS) certification preferred
Project Management experience required
Working knowledge of JDA/TMS software or equivalent platforms along with Transportation Market external tools such as FTR and DAT preferred
Must have expert level skills in quantitative, data, data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlikview). & MS office products
Carrier Management experience preferred
Must be self-motivated to accomplish department goals
Must be able to manage without direct supervision
Must have the ability to lead a team
Must be flexible with unplanned assignments, reprioritization of tasks
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
