This role’s purpose is to provide operational support to all/each of the company’s Distribution Center (DC) leadership teams through various special and process improvement-focused projects. Trouble-shooting and diagnosis (root cause analysis) skill sets will be utilized in understanding the current versus expected process/operations and then mapping out changes necessary and working with local DC Manager to implement and monitor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following:
Monitor key data points involving Almo transportation operations (damages by various facets, on-time LTL shipping, LTL carrier partner on-time transit performance, others, etc.)
Assist in planning, organization, and execution of the transportation segment of any DC relocations/moves each year.
Be THE resource to trouble-shoot, spearhead, and otherwise correct deficient transportation-related operations as designated by the VP, Operations & Logistics.
Work with Industrial Engineer to expedite development of new SOPs and other documentation relevant to properly communicated/trained operations employees.
Other duties as assigned.
10-12 years of experience in transportation operations, management, and planning. Additionally, the candidate should have experience managing a portfolio of transportation carrier partnerships in the LTL, Truckload, and Parcel modes.
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university
Highly capable and experienced in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) in routine work. Experience using AS400 a plus.
Ability to read and comprehend semi-complex instructions, and correspondence. Ability to write semi-complex correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to vendors, customers, and employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or conceptual form. Ability to deal with many tasks and issues simultaneously.
