POSITION PURPOSE: Perform all planning, scheduling, expediting and problem solving necessary at assigned off site locations to ensure the timely production and shipment of customer orders. Work closely with OWI customer service and location personnel to make sure all production needs are met to satisfy all customer requirements
DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a production and distribution schedule each day for selected locations utilizing MRP and sales forecasts.
Review component requirements and work with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure product is available in time for finished goods production needs.
Develop monthly forecasts for locations based on sales forecast, exception reports, manufacturing and raw material constraints.
Review exception reports for negative balances, un-booked orders, and past due production order dates.
Schedule production if negative balance is due to production requirements.
Collaborate with terminal personnel and OWI inventory department if negative balances are inventory issues.
Collaborate with OWI transportation department regarding un-booked orders.
Contact fillers and bottlers regarding past due work orders and revise as needed.
Update product databases as items are added or deleted.
Prepare measurement and status reports as required.
Establish annual production capacities for locations by executing analytic reviews during the year.
Maintain technical skills by attending classes, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Bachelors Degree in Business, a related field or equivalent experience in planning
1-3 years production planning and inventory control experience
Strong PC and intermediate Excel and Database (Access) skills required
APICS certification a plus
Experience within planning environment preferred
Strong mainframe computer skills
SAP experience is required
Familiar with JD Edwards ERP Systems
Good proactive interpersonal, written, verbal communication and team skills
Must be detail oriented and exhibit proactive problem-solving skills
Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills are a must
