With an eight-member Board of Directors, an annual budget of about $120 million, and approximately 800 employees, RIPTA provides mass transit and paratransit services throughout the State of Rhode Island. Subject to the direction of the Board, RIPTA’s new CEO will be responsible for transit operations and implementation of the authority’s mission, goals, and policies. RIPTA seeks a bold visionary who will see beyond the day-to-day challenges to conceptualize a strategic vision and to make that vision a reality. At a minimum, candidates should have an accredited Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in business, transportation, public administration, or a related field, plus 10 years of transit-related managerial (or comparable) administrative experience.
